Nigerian singer, Wizkid’s song, Essence, which features Tems, emerged as the first Nigerian song to hit Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
This achievement comes after the song hit the Billboard Bubbling Under Chart for the first time. This new milestone marks Wizkid’s third appearance on the chart and Tem’s first remarkable achievement with the star boy.
This was announced on the official page of billboard charts. The post stated that “@wizkidayo’s Essence, featuring @temsbaby, debuts at No.82 on this week’s #Hot100. It earns Tems her first career entry on the chart”.
Hot 100 rankings are based on sales(physical and digital), radio play and online streaming in the United States. Essence is one of Wizkid’s studio album (Made In Lagos) tracks released in October last year. The album is a 14 track project which features global musicians such as Skepta, H.E.R, Ella Mai, Burna Boy, and Damian Marley.
