Obi Cubana is an entrepreneur, a businessman, and an entertainment mogul, born Obinna Iyiegbu. Obi Cubana as he is publicly known is a native of Oba in Idemili North Local Government Area, situated in Anambra State. He was born on 12th April 1975, as the last son and the fourth child of his parents.

Obi Cubana is the CEO of Cubana companies which includes Ibiza Club, introduced in 2009 to give off a good and satisfactory entertainment with hospitality. Others are Cubana Dubai and Cubana Real Estate.

However, the popular club which was first launched in Owerri, and Imo State, now has branches in Lagos, Abia, and Enugu state. Considering his married life, it has been disclosed that, he got married to a Lawyer, Ebele Iyiegbu, aka Lush Eby, and has been blessed with four boys. Obi Cubana’s hard work has earned him many awards which include the Democracy Heroes Award” 2018 as “Democracy Entrepreneur” of the year, “Ghana-Nigeria Achievers Award” “Inspiring Personality Award, 2017, and many others which would soon be updated. Obi Cubana has an estimated net worth of  $500 million(N190 Billion). His income is generated from his numerous businesses, some of which includes;

Obi Cubana Mother’s Burial

The burial of Obi Cubana’s mother in oba has been the hot topic in all headlines. The funeral rites are one of the most expensive funerals that have ever been held in Nigeria. Mama Cubana who passed away in December 2020, was immortalized with a pendant and neckpiece worth $100,000. Over 400 cows which include cows donated from friends and close associates were used amid the funeral. This was a complete shutdown of his village as about 50 private planes landed in two airports. These were people who came to his mother’s funeral to grace the occasion with bundles of money.

Some moguls who graced the occasion are Jowizaza, Ned Okonkwo, Henry Iyke, Justine Obiajunwa, Emeka Esomonu, Chima Desmond Anyaso, Nnamdi Chu Iyiegbu, Ugochukwu Harvey Igboanugo, Pretty Mike Of Lagos, Prophet Odumeje, Francis Nwaogwugwu, Quincy Okoh, Akin Alabi, Olakunle Churchill, Peter Obi, Escoba Smith, Andrea Williams of Betro Furniture, Emma Bishop Okonkwo, Shina Peller. Nigerian musicians who took turns to make the celebration of his mother’s lit include Davido, Phyno, Patoranking, D’Banj, and KCEE. Famous actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo also got his fans laughing at his funny tricks on his Instagram page.

The extravagant celebration of Obi Cubana’s mother got a lot of comments when Pulse interviewed some prominent people.

It started in Lagos and then moved to Ijebu Igbo in Ogun State. It was quite a show that had the Lagos social establishment, captains of industries, and several eminent Nigerians in attendance,” Arogundade said.

“The reason why Cubana’s event has been so loud is because of social media. If we had social media in 2005, we would still be talking about that event until this day.

“Just like you had a lot of musicians in Oba, it was like that in Ijebu Igbo too. The likes of King Sunny Ade and Wasiu Alabi Pasuma and so many others were performing every day.”

Esther, an event planner in Lagos said; No matter the position it gets in the conversations about the most lavish funeral, Obi has raised the bar for people in that circle,” .

In showing appreciation, some close associates and business partners said :

“He’s very generous, and that’s why these things are happening,” a close associate of the wealthy businessman told Pulse.

“He sets people up to be rich themselves. People don’t work for him for more than five years. He makes sure you become your own boss and gives you all the support you need. This is why people love him.

“He attends all important events of everyone who works for him, from weddings to burials.

“Just on Sunday, he promised to reward 300 Oba youths from 300 families with millions of Naira to start their respective businesses.”
