Nigerian singer and songwriter, Omah Lay has made a shocking revelation about moments prior to debut EP release dubbed ‘Get Layd.’
According to him, he was told the body of work wasn’t good enough for the listening ears, therefore, he should put a hold on it. However, he fell on deaf ears and proceeded with its release. ‘Get Layd’ has now raked in one hundred and thirty million (130M) streams on Audiomack music streaming platform, alone. Other streaming platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and more are doing handsomely well.
“I remember being told the EP “doesn’t sound ready”. I refused to change anything and put it out like that. God did the rest,” he wrote in a Twitter post.
Omah Lay is easily one of the most successful young artistes in Nigeria. His ‘Get Layd’ EP has almost every song becoming a straight hit. The 5-song packed Expended Playlist has one of the major Afrobeats songs in the past year titled ‘Bad Influence.’ It’s therefore not so surprising it is making such great numbers.
